ESEA Title V, Part A, Innovative Programs State Grants
How mimio Meets ESEA Title V, Part A Funding
mimio is a digital and interactive whiteboard solution for K-12 educators and students. The mimio solution provides a cost effective means for teachers to deploy technology in support of integrating standards into their everyday curricula. mimio technology enabled whiteboards provide a platform for design and creation of supplemental curriculum, capturing classroom content for distribution and for supporting interactive teaching techniques in the classroom. Any mimio device is an easily assimilated tool for teaching and learning. It is a perfect solution for utilizing Title I funds, meeting many of the requirements for the intended use of this fund as outlined below:
1. Technology activities related to the implementation of school-based reform efforts, including
professional development to assist teachers and other school personnel regarding how to use technology effectively in the
classrooms and the school library media centers involved.
- mimio is an exceptional teacher professional development resource permitting easy assimilation of the potential and uses of technology enabled whiteboards. mimio data formats and flexibility for online use provide optimum delivery and benefit from peer to peer best practices and technique sharing and reinforcement of new learning and curriculum standards.
2. Programs for the development or acquisition and use of instructional and educational materials,
including library services and materials (including media materials), academic assessments, reference materials, computer
software and hardware for instructional use, and other curricular materials that are tied to high academic standards, that
will be used to improve student academic achievement.
- mimio's digital whiteboard functions provide an ideal means of capturing classroom generated curriculum contents, in a wide array of formats for distribution.
- mimio interactive whiteboard function provides a platform for large interactive display via projector of computer and internet based curriculum and supporting content.
- mimio systems in portable configurations (mimio Xi) offer unmatched ability to deploy Innovative Technology Programs broadly by enabling easy movement between classrooms.
3. Programs to improve the academic achievement of educationally disadvantaged elementary
school and secondary school students, including activities to prevent students from dropping out of school.
- mimio captured whiteboard notes and curriculum data offers students perfectly replicated class note originals in a variety of formats, including stroke by stroke replay. Improved review effectiveness increases performance and the positive reinforcement for students of the educational experience.
- mimio interactive whiteboard functions provide students with a visually and interactively engaging platform at the front of the class more likely to capture and hold attention and interest. Using the interactive board themselves to review and solve problems or observe directly the teacher's interaction with the computer interface, reinforces and increase likelihood of accurate acquisition and duplication of computer skills.
- mimio's "universal design" offers functions which in particular support acquisition of instructional materials by students with visual or physical (dysgraphia) impairments.
4. Programs to recruit, train, and hire highly qualified teachers to reduce class size, especially in
the early grades, and professional development activities carried out in accordance with Title II, that give teachers,
principals, and administrators the knowledge and skills to provide students with the opportunity to meet challenging State
or local academic standards and student academic achievement standards.
- mimio combines a practical digital whiteboard tool with diverse array of functions and options for creations and distribution of digital curriculum content. It's wide array of applications (teacher tested in the more than 10,000 educational institutions where mimio systems are used) reward teachers and students at all levels of K12 with the opportunity for creative and innovative use and motivating results.
