Company Overview
Founded in 1997, mimio has rapidly emerged as
the leader in the development of collaboration technologies that enable you to
capture, manage and share ideas. mimio, mimio flipChart and mimio Xi have won
more than 25 industry awards and are now standard tools in offices, conference
rooms and classrooms around the world.
mimio was founded by Yonald Chery, Dr. William Moyne, Manuel Perez,
Matthew Verminski, Andrew Kelley, and Michael Dixon, engineering and computer science students
at MIT. The idea emerged from Chery's concern, as a Teaching Assistant, that his
students were more focused on copying whiteboard notes than on the concepts
behind them. To address this concern, the team developed mimio - a portable
device that attaches to any whiteboard, connects to a computer and
electronically captures everything that is written or drawn.
As of October 2006, mimio became part of Newell Rubbermaid, a global entity and a respected business leader.
At mimio, we understand that business is driven by the creative,
productive use of technology. We also believe that the most expensive piece of
technology is any tool that is not used to its fullest potential.
Whenever "do not erase" is scrawled on a whiteboard, or dialog stops because
people can't take notes fast enough - that's when vital knowledge, a key concept
or an ideal solution may be lost forever.
Our goal is to increase your productivity and creativity through innovative
collaboration technology, improving and streamlining the way you already work.
